Such a dumb thing to do!

Well I did something kind of dumb on Tuesday night. While I was making dinner I laid my right hand on the stove and burned most of my palm, pinky finger, and some of my thumb. So painful! I ran water over my hand then had my hand in ice for several hours. I was so glad that Aaron was home. He finished making dinner and took care of Jake for the whole evening. Well I tried going to bed holding an ice pack on my hand, but that really didn't work. By 11 I was out of bed refilling my ice pack and still in so much pain. I decided to sleep on the couch so that Aaron could sleep well. So I was up till almost 4am refilling my ice pack every hour and trying to fall back asleep. I couldn't believe how bad this burn hurt. So I did finally fall asleep on the couch around 4 and woke up at 6:30 when Aaron got. When I did wake up the pain was finally easing up, but only after having ice on my burn for 12 hours!

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and I had my doctor give me a prescription for some burn cream for me. He looked at my hand and said "I hope that doesn't hurt as bad as it looks" but it did. It is looking so much better today and the burn cream really helped. It has just been hard not really being able to do everything with my right hand. Aaron really helped me out a ton last night. I don't know what I would do without him. Thanks sweetheart!

Ouch!!! That sounds terrible! I poured boiling water on my hand a few weeks ago, but it only got on part of my hand. But that hurt like crazy! I'm sure it's 100 times worse having a whole burned hand! Especially when you're pregnant and can't take advil or anything. I'm glad your feeling better though, thank heaven for such nice and helpful husbands!

That does not sound fun! I hope it gets better soon and and you can use your hand again. I'm glad Aaron was there to help you out.

Oh my gosh! That sounds terrible. I got a pretty bad burn from a hot glue gun when I was 12. (who knew that glue could burn so bad if you didn't take the glue off immediately) I remember doing the same thing, staying up with ice...except my mom sat up holding the ice on for me for hours it hurt so bad! That was just a small spot, I can't imagine your whole hand! I hope it heals REALLY fast!

Sorry Malinda I am not going to post any pics of my hand. That kind of sounds gross. I didn't take any pictures anyway.

My hand is looking so much better today, but not so pretty with big blisters on it.

Oh, Marcia I'm so sorry. Colin burned his hand on a hot coal that was on top of the dutch oven while camping when he was 2 1/2. We rushed him to the ER and then he was transported to the childrens' hospital. He will need a little surgery here soon, but as with most injuries they're magnified when you're an adult. The burn cream is great! take care of yourself!

Ouch! I can't even imagine. This probably happened due to what I like to call "pregnant brain". Why do we have to be clumsy and spacey when we're pregnant? Seems like it should be the other way around. Hope your hand heals quickly!
